How to Petition Congress to Stop U.S. Arms to Haiti
Haiti continues to experience crisis conditions due to gang violence and a deteriorating humanitarian situation. Women and children in makeshift camps are particularly vulnerable to violence and disease outbreaks. Two million people are in the grips of emergency levels of hunger (IPC Phase 4), facing extreme food shortages, acute malnutrition and high disease levels.
How can you help? Please consider writing your representatives in the House and the Senate to support legislation that helps stem the flow of illegal arms to Haiti. While the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation continues to operate in the rural Ouest region of Carrefour, the violence and instability in the country compounds the challenges that already existed in Haiti. The supply of guns from the US is a major factor in supporting this status quo. Without illegal guns and ammunition, the gangs can be stopped.
